Boojum&Snark is an innovative regeneration space on Sandown High Street that features a gallery , subculture events and community projects.

The vision of two life-long friends, Julie Jones-Evans and Tracy Mikich, Boojum&Snark was originally made possible with a grant from the Coastal Community Fund in 2019. Originally Boojum became the Island’s first modern craft beer taproom but after 5 years we relocated our Brewmagic kit to Goddards. We now focus on exhibitions and placemaking projects that resonate with the town’s cultural heritage, as well as SubculturecluB events.

“Through our projects, we’ve been instrumental in placing Sandown firmly on the cultural map. By fostering collaboration and creativity, we’ve begun to ignite a vibrant arts scene. The JUST THE PLACE exhibition was a testament to this, bringing our placemaking vision to life in a captivating showcase at the Quay Arts Centre.” – Julie & Tracy

"Boojum and Snark is unique, it's a bar, an arts hub and a museum. It's a brilliantly quirky idea, well executed, and taps into Sandown"s important cultural and artistic past and present. It's originality would make Lewis Carroll, author of the Hunting of the Snark, proud."

Just the place for a Snark!

Our name is a reference by the Lewis Carroll poem 'The Hunting of The Snark', which he penned while staying in Sandown
